GPLS 709 ADVANCED BIOCHEMISTRY

This course provides a broad overview of a wide variety of the latest research topics and approaches in biochemistry. This course is divided into two sections: (1) Techniques in biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology: NMR, X-ray crystallography, cryoEM, computational structural biology including structure prediction with AlphaFold and drug design, and solution state methods such as fluorescence and mass spectrometry. (2) Biomolecules and biomolecular assemblies: enzymology, membrane protein biochemistry and structural biology, enveloped virus biochemistry and structural biology, and cancer biology.
