This is a comprehensive advanced 3 credit course of clinico-pathological cases discussion. Each session will be a simulation of clinical presentation, radiographic findings if applicable, and histological picture. Followed by clinical and histological differential diagnosis, then definitive final diagnosis, prognosis and recommended line of treatment.  The course consists of a survey of specific diseases affecting the oral cavity and surrounding structures.  The Fall DPAT 616 focuses on epithelial lesions ( red and white, and pigmented lesions), Connective tissue lesions, and bone lesions.  The main emphasis is on the formation of differential and final diagnoses based on histological findings in correlation with clinical information. Midterm and end of term training on discussion board case threads will be emphasized. The students will be subject to regular evaluation based on their ability to participate regularly in case discussion.  The student will experience how definitive diagnosis is reached based on histological criteria.
