MSPA 698 Independent Study
This 5-week course is designed to benefit PA students struggling with academic and/or clinical content by allowing them to spend additional time in a structured environment, mastering material to remediate a failed clinical clerkship. The failed clinical clerkship must be retaken and passed in order to progress in the program. To be eligible for this course, the student must have already engaged in the full progression of clinical instruction in the most recently taken clerkship, but did not master the clinical content sufficiently to meet minimum standards, i.e., failed the clinical clerkship. This remediation course requires student participation during a period of focused study, tutoring, review and assessment, designed to increase academic and clinical performance to acceptable levels. Upon successful completion of this course, students must immediately retake the previously failed clerkship course as a decelerated student.
