INFO 698 INDEPENDENT STUDY IN CLINICAL INFORMATICS
This course covers independent study in Clinical Informatics. The subject matter will be Customized for each student, consisting of a set of individualized learning tasks or a special project with a faculty member, and based on an expected level of effort and deliverables. Prior approval from the Program Director is required. The course can be repeated by students for additional credit provided that the course covers new material. This course can be used as a program elective, for students who are eligible to opt out of a required course with prior approval of the Program Director. This course can also be used for visiting students engaged in elective studies at the University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies. Potential areas of study include any aspect of the core curriculum in Clinical Informatics, such as fundamentals of Clinical Informatics and the health system, clinical decision support and process improvement, health information systems and software engineering, data governance and analytics, or leadership and change management.
